Daily Balancing
Mixed media on watercolor paper
12" x16"
$300

This painting is inspired by my new love for modern/contemporary expression. The idea of balance in daily life, night and day, yourself vs relationships, husband and wife, order and disorder, harmony and chaos etc.Trying to incorporate the human figure in a painting with an inspiring message.

Here are a few thoughts/quotes on balance that relate to this painting-

Next to love, balance is the most important thing. John Wooden

The key to keeping your balance is knowing when you've lost it. Anonymous

lavender dreams

18" x 24"
Acrylic on canvas
$1000

In my quest to make paintings with emotional appeal and energy/feeling in abstract, i present this one. Abstract Landscape.

Felicity Huffman said, " she does love lavender because it is the color of transformation."

Happy to mention that Lavender Dreams has been accepted into the CCA "Driven to Abstraction" show in September.
Artist statement about the painting -

My goal in this painting was to present an image charged with emotional energy. Felicity Huffman said," lavender is the color of transformation." Following that thought in this abstract landscape painting, "Lavender Dreams" with a row of  lavender trees is very cathartic, dream-like and zen at the same time. This painting reminds me of morning walks and beautiful gardens.
With abstract landscapes, I reach my comfort zone somewhere between the real and imagined. Using line, color, shape, texture, hard and soft edges and warm and cool colors this painting takes the viewer on a dream -like journey to that elusive space at the edge of abstract realism.

This is the 2nd flower in a series of 3 flowers. This flower is very common in florist's shops in our area, however i have taken some artistic license with the color.
This painting is done for " Inspiration all around us" http://inspirationallaroundus.blogspot.com/
It is a blog by Dana Marie -- if you are interested in joining simply send an email to - danamarieart@yahoo.com.
Here is her note/blurb:
Each Tuesday I will post a new picture that we will draw inspiration for our artwork. Posting of creations will begin the following day, which will be a Wednesday.

You may be inspired to use the entire photograph or you may find you are drawn to a single aspect of the scene, a color or color combination, the composition, or even the feeling the photograph evokes.

Simply allow the scene to speak to your imagination and your heart and create something to share here at "Inspiration All Around Us".

I was inspired to post something when i saw this flower. I wanted to paint it in an unusual way to introduce variety in my work.
