The elements in this series are sharp lines, geometric shapes and bold use of color. Glazing, sanding and several layers of paint and collage was used to create a limited range of closely related tones. This also helps to create a mood.

"Back to drawing" is my inspiration for this painting- I am drawing colorful  birds in black and white. For this project i am going to choose birds that i have seen.

Fish Pond is inspired by a the zen feeling of watching fish swim and following their rhythmic, swirling movement in the pond water around them. 

Happy to mention that this painting has been accepted into the Chelmsford Center for the Arts "Garden In The Gallery Show". This exhibit will run from April 3 through May 17.  The Opening Reception is Friday, April 3^rd, 5:30-7:30pm.  The Gallery will be open Saturdays and Sundays, 2:00-4:00pm.

The experiment was to put aside the photo and use imagination to create the painting. What do you think,.... did it work?

I began this painting before i went to India- finally got to complete it today. This is done from a photo taken at the local botanical garden . The flash captured the bubbles very well and the whole painting depicts the grace and movement of the fish.
