Looping Around

Acrylic and mixed media on canvas

12" x12"

$275

So many times I find that an old canvas provides fresh new inspiration! This was an older canvas where I have created a raised pattern with a new medium - molding paste - and then I fell in love with the pattern and could not move past that. So I put it aside.
Then a few days ago on a cleaning spree I found it and decided to be brave and ‘kill my darling’ pattern. Saving some of it and painting white over the rest. That opened up a host of opportunities. The rest is history as they say.
So many lessons in this story!!!
1. Make a lot of work to allow your skills to catch up with your aesthetic.
2. Be patient
3. Build in layers
4. Enjoy the process and fall in love often
5. Try new things

On another note i will be selling my paintings at LexArt open studios event on May 20 and 21, 2023.

Please visit if you are in the area.

Changing A Lightbulb

Flip The Switch

Lightbulb Moment

Mixed media on wood panel

8" x 8"

$600 for all 3

In this series i am playing with different scales of pattern, scribbles, loose lines, collage, stencils, and paint transfers contrasting with large scale solid areas. The energy in these works comes from the use of a variety of lines and hidden texts. My focus was on lost and found edges, including veiling, and keeping a lightness and freshness in the work. The loose brushwork and mark-making contrasts beautifully with defined pattern.

All 3 paintings are intuitive and was an opportunity to explore the creative process.

Ode To Lightbulbs is currently on view at the Essex Art Center in Lawrence MA at their annual salon show https://shop.essexartcenter.org/

24" x 24" gallery wrapped canvas
Acrylic on canvas
$1,250
Original colorful, abstract painting. I thought this painting looked like waterlilies abstracted however, a friend saw this and said, "I don't see waterlilies, but i do think you were having a party in your head when you did it!!"So i decided to use her words as the title of this painting. I think maybe the party is a celebration with flowers, balloons and streamers. #abstractpainting, #originalart, #artforsale.

18"x 24"

Mixed media on wooden board

If you want to make a white painting start with a lot of colors !! Once all those endless shapes, squiggles, and marks make no sense at all begin to shape your true vision of deciding what to keep and what to leave out. This push and pull is what created this abstract painting. I am very happy with the results so named it Euphoria.

"Euphoria" is an tranquil abstract painting layered with soothing white, purple, yellow, and grey, intertwined with a myriad of other colors. An ecstatic dance of hues, shapes, and textures radiates boundless joy and elation, evoking a euphoric experience for the beholder, transcending the limits of conventional expression.
