How do you feel about green? What about green with some roses?

Beautiful greens always remind me of the landscape after the rain. many artists have tried to capture these inspiring fleeting moments including Vincent van Gogh. This painting has snippets of those washed out colors in the landscape around my home.

The second image shows details of the work with truer colors.

In this series i am playing with different scales of pattern, scribbles, loose lines, collage, stencils, and paint transfers contrasting with large scale solid areas. The energy in these works comes from the use of a variety of lines and hidden texts. My focus was on lost and found edges, including veiling, and keeping a lightness and freshness in the work. The loose brushwork and mark-making contrasts beautifully with defined pattern.

All 3 paintings are intuitive and was an opportunity to explore the creative process.

This painting started off  as an abstract but works better as an expressionistic painting. Still working on landscapes.

Remember Monet's painting of Haystacks🤔. Just read somewhere that if Monet was alive today he would paint hay bales because farmers don't make stacks anymore.

If Monet was alive today, his haystacks would look like bales of hay. this painting is inspired by that thought. I have seen these in local farms, they have bales of hay for feed and mulch.

This painting is inspired by the landscape in my neighborhood. Always liked painting trees, specially white birch trees - i have a few in my neighborhood so i went for a walk and took some mental notes.
Came home to my studio and created a composition.

This painting is more of an abstract idea inspired by the Shawsheen river. I enjoyed painting this one, might paint a few more abstracts.

A lovely set of 2 small impressionistic paintings inspired by my backyard in the summertime.
Working mostly with a secondary color palette and starting with a base wash of orange color makes the blue/green color on top "sing."
