This painting is inspired by my recent trip to India and viewing the works of contemperory Indian artists. I found that they do a lot of line work and abstract paintings. This painting combines both - the dancer is a line drawing and the painting has an abstract background with a representational Lord Ganesh showering red flower petal blessings on the dancer (the dancer is a very good friend's daughter - Neha, done from a photo taken from her arangetrum/ dance finals, invitation card). the column represents a temple setting.
