Ode To a Lightbulb

Mixed media Acrylic and Collage on wood panel

8"x 8" each (3 small works)

$600  (whole set)

In this series I am playing with different scales of pattern, scribbles, loose lines, collage and paint transfers contrasting with large scale solid areas.
The energy in these works comes from the use of a variety of lines and hidden text.
These paintings are a combination of shapes, lines and textures built up in layers. My focus was on lost and found edges and keeping a lightness and freshness in the work.
All 3 paintings are intuitive and came together almost by itself. The loose brush work contrasts beautifully with the defined pattern.

" A simple line painted with a brush can lead to freedom and happiness" - Joan Miro

It is important to savour the delicious feeling of putting down our marks and brush strokes.
Creativity is a gift it is important we look for opportunities for play and exploring without judgement.

This small mixed media painting inspired by the beautiful colors of fall in New England, by the colors I see outside my window. Corn, carrots, daffodils, and buttercups.

Fruit Bowl
12" x 12"
Acrylic and mixed media on gallery-wrapped canvas
SOLD

This painting is inspired by the one thing that is present in almost every home - a fruit bowl. A dish, vessel, tureen, pot, container to hold produce. Because it is such a universal idea it holds a lot of fascination for me as a painter. I had a lot of fun coming up with the colors and textures for this painting.
Drawing some of the fruits in was a last minute decision because just leaving it as an abstract painting might not appeal to everyone.
