Acrylic and mixed media on wood panel

12" x12"

$275

A framed abstract composition features nine circular shapes with varied patterns and bold colors, predominantly red, green, and blue. The background is textured with a mix of brushstrokes and splashes of color.

Nine circles are very symbolic in cultures, religion and literature. The number nine symbolizes completeness, universality and the culmination of a cycle.

Claude Monet once said to Paul Durand-Ruel, “ I took your advice and managed to make some quite good things out of paintings I considered irredeemable. “
Have you ever revisited an older painting?

Recently I revised an older painting from “Off The Grid “ series.
Worked on opening up the composition and making the colors more cohesive. This really helped bring out the freshness of the colors.

How do you feel about green? What about green with some roses?

Beautiful greens always remind me of the landscape after the rain. many artists have tried to capture these inspiring fleeting moments including Vincent van Gogh. This painting has snippets of those washed out colors in the landscape around my home.

The second image shows details of the work with truer colors.

Balancing Joy
Mixed media on watercolor paper
12" x16"

"Life is about balance, the highs and the lows, the thing everyone should realize is that the key to happiness/joy is being happy by yourself and for yourself." Ellen DeGeneres.
This painting is second in the series, inspired by my new love for modern/contemporary expression. To me the painting is about walking down the path of life and finding joy for your body and soul.  (Trying to incorporate the human figure in a painting with an inspiring message in a modern way.) The painting is open to interpretation by the viewer - depends on how you interpret the human figures - body and soul, 2 very good friends, soul mates etc,
