4" x 4" - small paintings

$50 each

Acrylic and mixed media on wood panel

This is an exercise in playing with color and contrast. Complimentary colors along with black and white drawing helped me achieve contrast and repetition along with harmony across both paintings.

red roses in blue vase
Large alcohol ink and acrylic on yupo
20" x 26"
$475 unframed

Nothing says “I love you” like red roses. The bold reds and pinks in this painting symbolizes love, beauty, courage, respect, and romantic love.
Alcohol inks allow me to find the most vivid reds and deep pinks for this occasion.

Large acrylic painting from photos taken at Georgia's flower shop. My friend Georgia owns Floral Arts Gallery- a flower shop and an art gallery, and often invites me to paint there. this painting is inspired by the colors of spring and meant to bring joy to any room it is placed in.
Perfume Bottles
Acrylic on canvas paper
9" x 12"
$150

Women (and men) love perfumes so much that there is a whole industry dedicated to it. It is not just the scent but how it is marketed and presented to the consumer. The beautiful bottles that hold the liquid are so sparkling and mesmerizing that i don't want to throw away the used bottles. This painting is inspired by the bottles in my closet and a new tube of gold Liquitex Paint marker.
Butterfly attraction
acrylic on panel
12" x16"
$350

This painting is inspired by the beautiful butterfly bushes that are everywhere in the garden at the Whistler House Museum http://www.whistlerhouse.org/. The painting is in an abstract contemperory style with complementary purple and yellow playing off each other, it is about creating an outdoor garden mood set in a pleasing composition.
The butterfly bushes are significant because the artist, James McNeill Whistler's "monogram 'J.W.' was developed into a 'butterfly' signature in c.1869 and gradually evolved over the next thirty years, acquiring antennae, veins and a tail."http://www.whistler.arts.gla.ac.uk/miscellany/butterflies/

This painting is done from a photo of a still life setup. It has a lots of different elements i like to paint, flowers, ribbons, folds of fabric, strong light, great shadows. These elements help make the composition exciting.

This is one of the paintings i did at Steve's workshop. I am very happy with the contemperory colors and the composition and brushwork.

I think the photograph is a bit blurry and some details look fuzzy- i will try to correct that!
